Nancie-Ann Bodell was named Deputy Administrator of Multifamily Housing at USDA’s Rural Housing Service in October 2019.
Ms. Bodell began her affordable housing career in 1988 with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the Providence Rhode Island Field Office. Throughout her career at HUD, she worked continuously within the Office of Multifamily Housing Programs, reflecting a passionate commitment to ensuring access to affordable housing opportunities for very low-income families and other vulnerable populations such as the elderly and disabled. In 2008, she moved to HUD headquarters in Washington DC to serve as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Multifamily Housing Deputy Assistant Secretary. She later became the Acting Multifamily Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary, and then the Director of the Office of Asset Management and Portfolio Oversight, where she managed a portfolio of $72 billion in multifamily assets and 1.2 million affordable housing units.
