On June 24, 2020, Governor Eric Holcomb announced the allocation of $25 million from Indiana’s CARES Act Discretionary funding to create the Indiana COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program.
This program is designed to help Indiana renters whose income has been adversely affected by COVID-19 avoid eviction by providing up to $2,000 in assistance to help cover monthly rent payments or late fees. The $25 million allocated by the state is estimated to serve 12,000 Hoosier renter households affected by the pandemic across 91 of the state’s 92 counties.
The application to apply will be available at www.indianahousingnow.org beginning on July 13, 2020 at 9:00 am EST.
On July 2, AHAIN will host “IHCDA Presents the Indiana COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program.” This is a free presentation featuring Matt Rayburn. This training will be a Microsoft Team Meeting which will allow you to ask questions at the end of the presentation during the Q & A period.
